This week. . the U.S. Supreme Court began its 2009- 2010 term with two highly intriguing case involving the First Amendment.The Court’s newest member, Justice Sotomayer had her debut on the bench and proved to be quite at home participating in oral argument.

• On Tuesday, the Court heard a case involving the legality of a dog fighting video.
• Today the Court hears oral argument in a case involving a cross erected on federally owned land. The cross was originally constructed in the Mojave Desert of California to honor veterans of World War I.
